Welcome to Orakei Dive Shop. Our shop is centrally located on one of the major routes out of the central city. You can reach our shop from the central city in just a few minutes by car, taxi, bus or even train (Orakei station is just 20 meter's from our front door). We have a small shop with a big reputation for relaxed, friendly service, providing everything you would expect from a big shop but on a more personal basis.

Our shop is not only a retail and top PADI training centre but we also offer repairs for most brands, tank testing (if there's something you can think of we've missed just ask, we are very accommodating folk). We also stock an extensive range of dive brands such as Aqualung, US Divers, Sea Quest, Apollo, Sherwood, Suunto, Wenoka, Delta and Cressi Sub. If there is a particular item you've seen that we don't have in stock (whatever the brand), don't hesitate to ask as the savings we can offer may please you


At Orakei Dive Shop we are able to service most brands of dive gear (with some personally imported or very old regs and BCD's we have problems getting parts). The average turn around time is a couple of days but if you have special requests or urgent work we are only too happy to try. We also fill dive tanks while you wait. Orakei can offer next day tank testing with no handling or courier fees added on. Full hydro tests= $45 including fill Visuals = $29including fill. A regulator tune up will set you back around $35 to $45 and a full over haul around $65 plus parts which will vary hugely from brand to brand. A special note for people outside New Zealand. If you are thinking of bringing in tanks from overseas, NZ has very strict regulations on tanks that we are able to fill. If you e-mail us with the details stamped on your tanks including a drawing of the little stamp included in or near the date of manufacture we will do our best to see if your tank is compliant with New Zealand regulations. However, it may work out more economical to hire tanks while visiting New Zealand, hire tanks are readily accessible in most areas.
