PADI Rescue Course
RESCUE COURSE TUESDAY 20th July 2010 (6pm). This is a good course to shout your buddy. I mean if you're the one in trouble wouldn't you like your buddy knowing what they're doing. This is an excellent course for those wishing to gain a few more skills and a must for those wanting to become Dive Masters. The cost of the course is $379. You will need to be an advanced diver with some sort of CPR/first aid certificate. If you need first aid training we will be running one after the rescue course for $150. The rest of the dates are 6pm, Wednesday 21st and Thursday 22nd , then the following Saturday and possibly Sunday during the day. You'll need your own gear or you can rent it from us at a special deal.
The PADI rescue course is designed to run after the advanced course. It is a good idea to get comfortable with your own diving abilities and equipment before signing up for this course.
To get into the PADI Rescue Diver program, you’ll need to be certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or equivalent)and must be at least 15 years old. The PADI Junior Rescue Diver program is available if you’re between the ages of 12 and 14 and hold a PADI Junior Advanced Open Water Diver (or equivalent) rating.
You’ll also need to have successfully completed the PADI MEDIC FIRST AID® program or a sanctioned program in CPR within the past 24 months. The PADI Rescue Diver program covers:
self-rescue
and diver stress
diving first aid
emergency management and equipment considerations
swimming and nonswimming assists
panicked diver response
underwater problems
missing diver procedures
surfacing the unconscious diver
in-water artificial respiration
egress (exits)
first aid procedures for pressure related accidents
dive accident scenarios.
Special notes
The first evening of all courses is in the classroom. All you require is your manuals and a pen.
All evenings start at the shop at 6pm. They finish between 8:30 and 9:30pm.
If you have problems attending a part of the course we will try to slot you in somewhere else, however if one on one training is required or you wish to change weekends mid course there may be a charge. Please check.
